So I came to the realization tonight that it's not so much that you're not here that bothers me, it's the way you went about not being here.

So Andorella has gone from being a DK to a Jedi Knight. If any of The Blueberry Brigade plan on trying out SWTOR (and I highly recommend it), you can find me and a few of my RL friends on Hedarr Soongh server, Republic side. Hope to see you there because I miss you all and I highly doubt I'll go back to WoW any time soon.

A reminder poem:

Yes, I have a kid, so you'll never come first.
But I always finished in fifth place or worse.
Your family and work. Your friends, school and cats.
I'm finding it hard to find fairness in that...
I didn't need more than a kiss and kind word.
So really who's actions were the more absurd?

This night...

Well it started out pretty crappy. Computer is dead. Won't even power on. There's an expense I could do without. But after that my friend 'Stina started texting me and that cheered me up a bit. She's in New York, but nothing like some harmless flirting to help me remember that I have other friends out there that think I'm pretty cool.

I really needed it too. I was so used to texting the girlfriend about my day every night before bed, that I was pretty lost last night when it was time for sleep. It's definitely not the same, but it's something. Small steps until I can actually forget how badly I was hurt...

This is amazing.

This video shows the winner of "Ukraine’s Got Talent", Kseniya Simonova, 24, drawing a series of pictures on an illuminated sand table showing how ordinary people were affected by the German invasion during World War II. Her talent, which admittedly is a strange one, is mesmeric to watch.

The images, projected onto a large screen, moved many in the audience to tears and she won the top prize of about £75,000.

She begins by creating a scene showing a couple sitting holding hands on a bench under a starry sky, but then warplanes appear and the happy scene is obliterated.

It is replaced by a woman’s face crying, but then a baby arrives and the woman smiles again. Once again war returns and Miss Simonova throws the sand into chaos from which a young woman’s face appears.

She quickly becomes an old widow, her face wrinkled and sad, before the image turns into a monument to an Unknown Soldier.

This outdoor scene becomes framed by a window as if the viewer is looking out on the monument from within a house.

In the final scene, a mother and child appear inside and a man standing outside, with his hands pressed against the glass, saying goodbye.

The Great Patriotic War, as it is called in Ukraine, resulted in one in four of the population being killed with eight to 11 million deaths out of a population of 42 million.

Kseniya Simonova says:
"I find it difficult enough to create art using paper and pencils or paintbrushes, but using sand and fingers is beyond me. The art, especially when the war is used as the subject matter, even brings some audience members to tears. And there’s surely no bigger compliment."

Please take time out to see this amazing piece of art.

It may be the Apple Pie's talking, but I really wish Ninja Assasin was out today :D

Yay for vacation

So just started vacation week. This is the moon from our balcony. I may sleep outside in a hammock tonight!

New camera

So I've had my new canon XS for about 2 weeks now and had very little chance to actually get out and shoot. I LOVE the camera, but I was hoping to make more time to practice shooting with it. I've got the hang of manual mode pretty well and I'm starting to get some stuff to try HDR images, but I really need a weekend where I can just go downtown and snap a few.

I do have one photo I love though!

Those eyes...

I'll be trying to post more once I get the hang of everything, so expect a lot more Xander!

Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday shadrad! Hope you have a fun, stress-free day!

Well, just ordered the webcast of Blizzcon. I swear I didn't just do it for the vanity pet!! ok... maybe that was a big factor, but it'll still be pretty cool, and it's way better than having to order DirectTV.

I suppose I should have seen what days of the week it's gonna be, but oh well.
